Connect Geistra Pro to Claude

Geistra Pro keeps your business's work in one place: a Space for each client, matter, deal or project, with its records and files, that your colleagues and the AI apps you use all work from. Connected to Claude, it lets Claude read and update that work for you, under your permissions, and every change shows who made it and through which app.

What you need

  • A Geistra Pro account. Usually your business invites you; while Geistra Pro is in early access, new accounts are by invitation (book a demo).
  • Business Spaces, templates and pooled limits come with your business's plan, Team or Business (pricing). The connector itself works on every account.
  • Claude on the web, desktop, mobile or Claude Code.

Connect it

In Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and add Geistra Pro. If it isn't listed for you, choose Add custom connector, name it Geistra Pro and use this address:
https://mcp.geistra.pro/mcp
  1. Click Connect, sign in to Geistra Pro if asked (with your business's sign-in, if it uses one), and click Allow on Geistra's consent page. It shows which app is asking and where it will send you back.
  2. In a chat, make sure Geistra Pro is turned on under Connectors, then ask, for example, “What Spaces do I have in Geistra?”

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector for the organization first, then each person connects their own Geistra Pro account. Each person sees only what they can see in Geistra.

In Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http geistra-pro https://mcp.geistra.pro/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose geistra-pro → Authenticate, and click Allow in the browser.

Make Claude use Geistra without being asked

Add a few lines to Claude's instructions and it checks Geistra at the start of each task and keeps your records current as it works. Get the text.

What Claude can do

Tools that only read run without asking. Anything that changes your data asks you in Claude first. On top of that, sensitive actions also wait for your approval in Geistra itself, whatever the AI asks: sharing outside a Space, inviting people or changing their access, publishing a public link, running a saved action (such as sending a text), applying a draft, and legal holds.

Spaces

List your Spaces and your business's Spaces you're in, see their members, recent activity and usage, and create a Space or set one up from a template (personal injury, immigration, litigation and discovery, bookkeeping). Archiving a Space, and placing or lifting a legal hold, ask you first.

Records and search

Read and search records by words or by meaning, plan where new kinds of information belong, and create, update or delete records, including several changes together as one transaction.

Files

Read the text of documents and photos already in a Space (scanned pages are read by OCR), show your photos and images right in the chat, save files from the conversation (in ChatGPT, images it made or files you attached go straight in), give you an upload link for the original file, and replace or delete files.

Drafts

Stage a larger change in a draft you review before anything live changes. Applying a draft asks you first.

Sharing and members

See who is in a Space and invite people or change their role. Every invitation, role change and removal waits for your approval.

History

See what changed, when, by whom and through which AI app, and catch up on what changed since you last looked, including what you did in other apps and other chats.

Saved conversations and handoffs

Save the important parts of a conversation when you ask, and hand them to a colleague so they can carry on.

Skills

Follow Geistra's written procedures for repeated work: a discovery index, a medical chronology, a demand package, an immigration checklist, a ledger, a P&L.

Apps

Build simple pages over a Space's data (tables, lists, calendars, forms, checklists) that you and your colleagues open at a link.

Tasks

Schedule work Geistra does even when no chat is open, such as a morning summary by email, or a Python task that runs in a sandbox with only the access you approve. Creating or changing a task asks you first.

Inbound hooks

Create an address another service sends events to, so each event becomes a record in a Space.

Notifications

Tell other systems when something changes, with a signed webhook or a private feed link. Both ask you first.

Saved actions

Run a saved action you set up in Geistra (the Space's Automation tab → Saved actions), such as sending a text, by name. Every run asks you first, and its daily limits and opt-out list always apply.

Things to ask

  • “What changed in the Delgado matter this week, and who changed it?”
  • “Find everything in the Smith matter that mentions the March inspection, and cite the pages.”
  • “Build a medical chronology from the records in the Delgado Space.”
  • “Make an intake checklist app our paralegals can open.”
  • “Email me a summary of open invoices every Monday at 8am Chicago time.”

What Claude can't do

  • Read a stored secret's value. Nobody can read one back, person or AI.
  • Send arbitrary web requests. It can run a saved action you set up in Geistra, by name and with your approval (the full connector below can do more).
  • See a Space you aren't a member of, or a collection you don't have access to, even inside your own business.
  • Delete anything under a legal hold, or get around your business's policies.
  • Read or list an archived Space. You read archived Spaces in Geistra itself.
  • Do more than you can. It acts as you, with your permissions.

The full connector

For people who automate a lot, Geistra has a second address with two more abilities: Claude can call a service with a secret stored in a Space (Geistra fills the secret in, and Claude never sees it), and create or change saved actions from the chat instead of in Geistra. Each still asks you first. It uses the same Geistra sign-in.

Add it yourself as a custom connector (on Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds it for the organization):

https://mcp.geistra.pro/mcp/full

Use one Geistra connector or the other, not both, so Claude doesn't see every tool twice.

Your data and privacy

Geistra doesn't read your Claude chat history, memory or other conversations. It sees only what Claude sends when it calls a Geistra tool, and keeps only what you or Claude deliberately save. Every change records who made it and through which AI app. Content Claude reads from Geistra is marked as data, never as instructions.

Read the privacy policy, how Geistra is secured, and its subprocessors.

Disconnect

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Geistra and disconnect or remove it.

In Geistra, open Account settings → Connected AI apps and click Disconnect. That stops the app at once, whatever Claude still holds.
